How to Get Your License Quickly in South Dakota

  1. Serve any jail or suspension time, as well as completing your sobriety program and any community service.
  2. Schedule an IID installation with a state-approved, interlock service provider.
  3. Fill out an SR-22 form, which proves financial responsibility, and send to the DPS office. Your insurance agent or company can help with this paperwork.
  4. Take the vision/knowledge and driving tests.
  5. Pay all your applicable fees to the DPS. Note that you will still have to complete court regulations as well.
