New Year’s Eve Checkpoint
Moreno Valley will have a DUI checkpoint held by law enforcement and the Bureau of Land Management. DUI and license checkpoints will be held through January 3, 2016. Officers from Moreno Valley will be looking for signs of alcohol impairment and checking for proper licensing and registration.
Checkpoint locations will be established based on collision statistics and previous DUI arrests. These points are always chosen with the safety of the public being the number one concern.
DUI checkpoints have proven to be a consistent deterrent of drunk driving. With public postings of these checkpoints, drivers are aware that police are looking for drunk drivers and are more likely to safely plan ahead.
If you will be enjoying a night out on New Year’s Eve, make sure you plan ahead. Officers will be looking for drivers who are under the influence. Designating a sober driver, or using a taxi or car service are your safest options for getting home safe after celebrating the New Year.
