Wyoming Ignition Interlock Laws

For first and repeat DUI offenders, the Wyoming Department of Transportation – Driver Services (DOT) may require you to install an Ignition Interlock Device (IID) in your vehicle if you…

  • Had a BAC level of .15 or higher.
  • Refused a breath test or were unconscious at the time of the test.
  • Are guilty of second or subsequent DUI offenses with a BAC level of .08 or above.

*You will be responsible for all costs and installation services for the IID, and bring your vehicle in for regular monitoring and service.

How to Get Your License Quickly in Wyoming

  1.  Serve any jail or suspension time, as well as completing your alcohol/drug evaluation and any community service.
  2. Apply for an Ignition Interlock Restricted (IIR) driver’s license through the DOT.
  3. Call 800.831.3299 to schedule an IID installation with a state-approved, Smart Start interlock service provider.
