Oklahoma Ignition Interlock Laws

For first and repeat DUI offenders, the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety (DPS) may require you to install and maintain an  Ignition Interlock Device (IID) in your vehicle if you…

  • Had a breath alcohol concentration (BAC) level of .15 or higher.
  • Refused a breath test or were unconscious at the time of the test.
  • Are guilty of a second or subsequent DUI traffic offense.

*You will be responsible for all costs and installation services for the IID, and bring your vehicle in for regular monitoring and service. You may be required to attend and complete a drug and alcohol evaluation and assessment program.

How to Get Your License Quickly in Oklahoma

  1. Complete all jail/suspension time, as well as completing the Alcohol and Drug Substance Abuse Course (ADSAC). The BOT will send you a notice of reinstatement requirements.
  2. Call 800.831.3299 to schedule an appointment to have your interlock device installed with a state-approved, Smart Start interlock service provider.
  3. Finally, provide your acknowledgment form of installation (provided to you by Smart Start) as proof to the DPS with your reinstatement fee.
