Smart Start Accessibility Statement

At Smart Start, we’re committed to making efforts to maintain and increase the accessibility of our website that provides equal access and opportunity for all individuals. 1A Smart Start LLC invests resources with an aim to not only help make web content accessible to users with auditory, visual, and mobility needs, but ultimately to all users, regardless of ability.

One of the efforts that have been undertaken to address our progress in providing digital accessibility is making the UserWay Website Accessibility Widget available on smartstartinc.com. The Widget offers user-triggered enhancements that allow visitors to improve the accessibility of the site. These features will, when selected, increase font size, pause animations, change color contrast, and more. People can choose combinations that suit their needs.

The site has enabled Automated Remediation Technology (ART) for all visitors, whether they use assistive technology or not. ART does not detect Assistive Technology usage; rather, it improves accessibility for all site visitors regardless of ability by deploying remediation capabilities such as (not a complete list):

– Images and other non-text elements have alternative text associated with them when required; and
– Keyboard navigation is improved with aids such as focus indication and skip links.

For individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, Smart Start offers an external LED which flashes when it is time for a random retest. For more information, please visit this FAQ page.
