1. You Can Apply To Drive During Suspension.
Many people do not know that they can continue to drive their vehicle during the suspension period. All you must do is apply to the DMV after you have served at least 45 days of your suspension (30 on some) and pay a $100 application fee. As long as your license is not suspended for other reasons that a DUI you will be approved to drive as long as you have an approved Kansas Ignition Interlock device installed.
2. Don’t Wait To Have The Kansas Ignition Interlock Installed
We hear from people all the time that wait after their restriction to Ignition Interlock period begins to have the interlock installed. Many think that they can wait out the period or that if they wait to have it installed it will make that period shorter. NOT TRUE. You must have the interlock installed on your car for the full restriction time period that the state requires. This will not decrease or go away, until you proved that you have had it for the full-time you will not get your license back. The DMV makes no “exceptions” because of not knowing how it works. 3. Don’t Lose Your State Paperwork
