Poway DUI Checkpoint

There is a DUI Checkpoint planned for this Mother’s Day Weekend. If you’re planning on enjoying a champagne brunch with mom you might want to plan a safe ride home ahead of time!

Beginning tomorrow evening at 7 PM Poway authorities will begin a DUI Checkpoint and that checkpoint will continue until 3 AM Saturday morning. The hope is that this checkpoint will deter intoxicated drivers, increase public safety, and increase awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving.

If you will be drinking this weekend you should consider appointing a designated driver to be sure you arrive to all of your destination’s safely. If that is not a viable option for you then you should utilize a driving service like a taxi, an Uber or a Lyft.

This checkpoint in Poway is funded by a grant from the state Office of Traffic Safety. Driver’s are encouraged to report any drunk drivers they may encounter by calling 911.
